SEND A LETTER OF THANKS TODAY

THANK YOU, CONSTABLE SMITH

He stood between a gunman and a congregation at prayer. Now it's our turn to stand with him.

On Sunday evening, as about two dozen people gathered inside Sons of Jacob Synagogue in Belleville to begin Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish year, a gunman armed with a shotgun opened fire on the police officer stationed outside.

That officer was Const. Jeff Smith, a 13-year veteran of the Belleville Police Service. He held his ground. He was shot and critically injured, and no one inside the synagogue was hurt.

Const. Smith faces a long road to recovery. The least we can do is make sure he knows how many Canadians are grateful.

Send Const. Smith your support and your thanks.
