CLOSE THE NAKBA EXHIBIT

Sign the letter to the CMHR Board demanding they close this divisive, controversial exhibit.

To the Board of Trustees:

We, the undersigned Canadians, call on you to close the Palestine Uprooted: Nakba Past and Present exhibit.

Nearly nine in ten Canadians say a united country matters to them, and a majority already believe Canada is less united than it was five years ago (Nanos Research, June 2026). At a moment like this, a national museum should be bringing Canadians together.

Instead, a taxpayer-funded national institution has chosen to platform one side of a divisive foreign conflict — the opposite of what it exists to do.

Even worse, a foreign entity — the Palestinian Authority — was directing and influencing the museum staff behind this exhibit. An institution funded by Canadians should answer to Canadians, and to no one else.

Your own board was not even shown this exhibit before it opened to the public. Canada’s Culture Minister has since called it an “error in curation” that “should be rectified.”

This exhibit divides Canadians, imports a foreign conflict, and fails the mandate of a national museum.

Close it.
